My Grandfather, Thomas Wilson Laney, Sr., always encouraged his grandchildren to create. One of my favorite art projects was when he would take us to the beach to pick out shells that we thought looked like a face. We would take our shells back home, glue them onto paper and draw around them with conté crayons.

These are some of my favorites. The majority were drawn by him, but a few were done by me and my cousins.
